Sustainable machining - correlation of the optimization by minimum energy, minimum manufacturing time and cost of production

    Get PDF
The machining process leads the indices of productivity and employability in a world level and has an enormous influence at social and economics standards, however it requires machinery that consume high levels of energy, chemical fluids and has great emissions of greenhouse gases. In our days as governments and clients increase their demands for the degradation of ecosystems, also increase the need for companies to implement sustainable policies and improve their environmental performances. The reduction of energy consumption and consequently the reduction of fossil supplies are a major source of concern at this level. This article establish a bridge between the classical approaches of optimization models of machining processes (Maximizing Production Rate and Minimizing Production Cost), and reduction of electricity. For a single pass turning it was used a mathematical model to analyse the data taken as a reference, optimizing the critical parameters of consumption of time, money and energy

From vulnerability to responsability according To homo Viator parable (lc 10,25-37): by the sense of Levinas

O cuidado é a responsabilidade. A responsabilidade para o outro é o lugar em que está situado o não-lugar da subjetividade do samaritano ao Helpness (Lc 10, 30).The vulnerability is analyzed as responsibility, according to the interpretation of the Good Samaritan parabola. In this study, is presented a conceptual analysis of the vulnerability, under two aspects: the passive vulnerability and active vulnerability ,and the vulnerability as responsibility to the Other. This Other, wanting the solidarity of Another, who receives its vocation. The care is responsibility. In my responsibility that answers for the freedom of the other (helpless), in the astonishing human fraternity in which fraternity according the Good Samaritan, would not by itself explain the responsibility between separated beings it calls for. The responsibility for the other is the locus in which is situated the non-place of subjectivity from Samaritan to the Helpness (Lc 10, 30)

Results of anatomical and taxonomic identification of skeletal remains recovered at the archaeological site La Marcelina 1 (MAR 1) are presented in this paper. All bones recovered are discussed in detail. A taphonomic analysis was made to determine which species were the results of human exploitation. We consider the full expectation of the findings (ETH), which relates the total number of bones found (NISP), the bones that compose the skeleton (HT) and the minimal number of individuals calculated (MNI). We evaluated the protein outcomes of each animal to measure its involvement in the diet. Based on these indicators and the taphonomic information, we rebuilt the consumption practices of hunter-gatherers who habited the site. We concluded that the subsistence was based on the guanaco (Lama guanicoe) and supplemented with medium and small mammals, and Rhea eggs. We must highlight the presence of an extinct fox (Dusicyon avus) dated on 3.603 ± 40 years BP, and a δ13C of -18,9. It was incorporated in the sequence by natural causes.Fil: Silveira, Mario Jorge. New results on stabbing segments with a polygon

    Get PDF
We consider a natural variation of the concept of stabbing a set of segments with a simple polygon: a segment s is stabbed by a simple polygon P if at least one endpoint of s is contained in P, and a segment set S is stabbed by P if P stabs every element of S. Given a segment set S, we study the problem of finding a simple polygon P stabbing S in a way that some measure of P (such as area or perimeter) is optimized. We show that if the elements of S are pairwise disjoint, the problem can be solved in polynomial time. In particular, this solves an open problem posed by Loftier and van Kreveld [Algorithmica 56(2), 236-269 (2010)] [16] about finding a maximum perimeter convex hull for a set of imprecise points modeled as line segments. Our algorithm can also be extended to work for a more general problem, in which instead of segments, the set S consists of a collection of point sets with pairwise disjoint convex hulls. We also prove that for general segments our stabbing problem is NP-hard. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
